Leading retailer of outdoor gear and apparel to open store in fourth quarter 2015

Richmond, VA – Short Pump Town Center, Richmond’s Premier Shopping Destination, adds to its impressive line-up with more new retailers, restaurants and entertainment offerings along with the recent renovations and over 20 new retailers in 2014. Short Pump Town Center continues to evolve to enhance the overall customer experience.

L.L. Bean, one of the nation’s leading merchants of quality outdoor gear and apparel, recently announced that it will be opening its first retail store in central Virginia at Short Pump Town Center during the fourth quarter of 2015. The L.L. Bean store will occupy the one-level space where the Food Court is currently located. The children’s play village will be re-located nearby. Chick-fil-A will operate an Express location on the lower level until they re-open in a new full-service restaurant near Macy’s Department Store in Fall 2015.  Auntie Anne’s will re-locate to an in-line space on the upper level in addition to a cart, which will be located in the Main Plaza.  Other quick service food options are available at Baker’s Crust Café, Starbucks Coffee and at the Nordstrom Ebar.

In addition to the opening of L.L. Bean, Short Pump Town Center will add the following retailers to their line-up:

Children’s Museum of Richmond – Short Pump satellite museum will be opening in early July and provide a fun place where kids climb, create, explore and play their way to a lifetime of learning.

Lily Rain – An unexpected assortment of smart fashion finds including apparel and accessories as well as original home gifts.  Inspiration for the product offerings come from obscure European emporiums, open air markets, museums and best-kept-secret boutiques and a goal of mingling fashion statements with quirky gifts and stunning home accessories.

The Boathouse – Favorite local restaurant, offering classic coastal dishes inspired by the Boathouse brand, will open in early June under the Hyatt House hotel on Restaurant Row.

Zumiez – Cutting edge clothing, shoes, accessories, and gear for skateboarding, snowboarding and surf lifestyles for guys, girls and kids, opening May 2015.

“Short Pump Town Center is the leader in Central Virginia in offering unique to the market retailers, exceptional dining options and family friendly entertainment.  We are always looking for ways to enhance the overall experience and we feel that the addition of L.L. Bean will allow us to continue to do that”, said Kem Blue, Vice President/General Manager of Short Pump Town Center.

Announced earlier, The Boathouse, a local Richmond favorite, will open in early June and The Children’s Museum of Richmond’s satellite location will open in July.  In addition, many of our current retailers are undergoing full remodels this year, including Victoria’s Secret, Francesca’s and Godiva Chocolatier.

Shoppers continue to enjoy the newly renovated center, which allows customers to soak up the local warmth and beauty of the center with its signature landscaping, new gathering pavilions, redesigned fountains, feature elevator and Main Plaza Bridge.
